Jakwob is James Edward Jacob from London and he is a master craftsman of electronic ear pleasing, bass driven ecstasy. The Prize is just that. You actually feel as if you have been gifted something special when you hear it and you have. The album has collaborations from Ghost, Youngman, Kano, Roses Gabor, and 14th which add cred and sustenance to an already dynamic album taking the echelons of it’s reach higher still. I’ve followed Jakwob for a long while now ever since I first heard his take on Ellie Goulding’s “Starry Eyed” and Mr. Fogg’s “Moving Parts” and believe me when I say he has upped his game since then. You can download the album for free here. Check out the remixes aforementioned then jump into The Prize with both feet by streaming the whole album below.

Do not play this song around spring breakers. I repeat do not. There will be alot of drunken Woo Hoo’s and probably a few “This is my jam’s” as well not to mention a new TV show called most likely Spring Breakin’ and Pregnant a year later. This tune is so sexy that I heard Snooki got pregnant just by hearing it…..and then proceeded to ramble off some expletives before passing out in her own vomit. See, this is what I’m saying. Fellas be careful! We don’t need another one of those running around. Play this only in the bedroom with your lady or your mp3 device. You don’t want the police knocking on your door with a girl you never saw before yelling “That’s him, he’s the father. He was the one playing Jai Paul” Now I am gonna post the tune below but be sure to check around you before pressing play to avoid any law suits. As for the women just be safe and use protection before hitting the play button. OK ready?……………..Did you check first boys? You may proceed but only if the coast is clear.

Check out the comments. I think at least two of them are claiming Jai Paul is the father!!

OMG I think I'm pregnant!! Me too!! Woo Hoo!!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Young Magic “Sanctuary”

"Melt"

These guys have a very unique sound that is parts African rhythm with a little hip-hop thrown in topped off with some psychedelia. They just recently released their debut full length “Melt” on Carpark records and it is an album to not listen to while under the influence as it will float you to places you may never return. I SAID DON”T! but you really don’t need any extra-curriculars to float with this. Just shut your eyes and tell me about it later when you return. Check out the amazingly beautiful “Sanctuary” below and then go get your copy to take you to Never Never Return Land here.

Hipster approved!

M+A “Liko, Lene, Lisa/Adidas”

Italy has long been one of my favorite places on the planet and these two just added to that strength with their uniqueness. Meet Italian wunderkinds Michele(Michael and it’s pronounced Mik-ay-lay) Ducci,19, and Alessandro(you should be able to translate this one) Degli Angioli,22 who together comprise the band M+A(get it?, it’s the first letters of their names). Things.Yes is their debut album released Nov. 11th of 2011 in which “Liko, Lene,Lisa” was the lead track. They create sample based electronic pop ear candy in which they throw in some horns, keyboards, warped vocals and maybe even some harps to create an intriguing and promising sound. “Adidas” is my favorite track from an album of many with it’s chill electronic tempo. Images of clubbing in Italy dance in my head when listening to it and then all of a sudden when it slows down those images transform to playing slow motion hopscotch with the characters of Alice In Wonderland, but that is most likely just me. l’Italia molto impressionata! Check out both tracks below and then go buy this wonderfulness here on iTunes.

Long Walks On The Beach

Looks like somebody likes Long Walks On The Beach!

I thoroughly enjoy Long Walks On The Beach is the first thing I tell a girl when I meet her. She doesn’t need to know I’m talking about a band. Not much on this guy except that it’s bedroom pop project from out of Washington D.C. He may be the only beach for miles but it’s a beach I will be visiting over and over again no doubt. These are great tracks that are really unique. They are very addicting so be warned. I’ll start you off with “True Love Or Bust” which is the first stage in searching for love then next with “Literally Crazy For You” which is how you feel when you find your True Love followed by “metaPhysical” which is the highest level attained in the love game. Enjoy you sappy lovebirds. Grab the free download here on his Bandcamp page.

Cold Cave- The Great Pan Is Dead

Cold Cave is the experimental music project of Philly native Wesley Eisold. (yaaa Philly!) He now resides in New York.  Eisold does the singing and songwriting, however he does collaborate with a small group of musicians and artists.  ”Cherish the Light Years” is the most current album.  This song took me in a time machine to London in the 80′s… right because I knew exactly what that was like while I was wearing pink overalls playign with my My Little Ponies.
