Brian Sendrowitz has been shaping wonderful heartfelt pop songs since 2005 with the help of friends making recordings and rounding out live shows. Influenced by the sounds of The Replacements, The Frames, Broken Social Scene, and even the one and only Robert Allen Zimmerman, Sendrowitz crafts songs that take you away to that special place we all go to when we need it most. He has released three full length LP’s with those being “The Great Big Sea”(2007), “Safe Inside The Sound”(2009), and “Golden Age”(2011). All worthy of your library but this year he is doing something different with the release of “Hard Times Go!” in a series of installments with part 1 just released end of January.”Hard Times, Go!” is an expansive, adventurous concept record that sonically and thematically falls between Bruce Springsteen’s Darkness on the Edge of Town and Robyn’s Body Talk-taken from his Facebook page. 6 tracks of perfect pop that includes a cover of Robyn’s “With Every Heartbeat”. “Dreaming Wide Awake” is track 3 and Brian explains it as such-”My wife Liz and I wrote this song together. We’ve been together since we were kids, and we’ve never collaborated on a song before but the process was super fun. This song is pure escapism. I thought the subject matter of a lot of the songs I’ve been writing lately was sort of heavy, and I wanted to write a song that was romantic, and dreamy in the way Van Morrison songs are – the ones that take place in this magical pastoral setting, where it usually rains, and the rain makes you better than you were before”. Yeah, what he said. Check it out below and buy the album and all the others here on their Bandcamp page.
